I came across this interesting article today regarding making changes to your diet as you age – something that I’d never actually thought all that much about, despite having had premature ovarian failure/early menopause. Dietician Orla Walsh recommends a few dos and don’ts when it comes to how you could adjust your nutrition levels as you age.
One thing I would also recommend is getting a regular NCT, and I’m not talking about your car 🙂 Get a healthcheck every 1-2 years – it’s worth looking into whether your health insurance provides cover or part-cover for this, often they do and I firmly believe it’s worth doing. If anything comes up, for example the common low Vitamin D levels, adjust your diet accordingly. Sometimes we need reminding, and an annual checkup should pick up any deficiencies. As my Mum would say, it’s an investment in oneself – very important!
